What will you do for me? We will read through the plan details and provide you with a written report, which explains the risks and rewards of going ahead. We don’t use legal jargon and aim to ensure that you fully understand the contract that you intend to enter into. |
| |
|
| 2. |
How much does it cost? We charge a fixed fee of £345.00 plus VAT on a 'no completion no fee' basis, plus any out of pocket expenses (eg, Land Registry fee). If your property needs to be transferred in the names of those who wish to take out the equity release plan, we charge an additional £125.00 plus VAT. However, we will provide a break down of all our costs right from the beginning so you do not receive any nasty surprises. |

If I can’t visit your head office, how do I proceed? We can find a solicitor near to your home who will witness your signatures on the relevant documentation and plan paperwork. You are responsible for the fees of the local solicitor but we will negotiate the fee for you in advance of your visit, so that it is no more than £75 plus VAT*. |

Can I ‘top up’ equity release from my property? Possibly. This will depend on the equity remaining in the property, your age(s) and the plan provider’s current lending criteria. You should speak to a financial adviser if you wish to top up, to ensure that it is in your best interests. |

|
| 5. |
Can I use equity release for any purpose? Yes! However, please be aware that if you plan to give the proceeds of the plan to a relative or friend (eg, to help a son or daughter buy a house) you should take specialist legal advice as rules regarding gifts are complex. |
